I am absolutely sure that this has been discussed before on this forum, but I was unable to find it. I was just wondering the # of interviews that are usually offered and the # of acceptances usually sent out AFTER the waitlist moves. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the interview invite.

 

The number of interviews is usually approximately 450.

 

The (total) number of acceptances sent out is approximately 275/year. How many of those acceptances are first round--I don't know... haven't heard anything about that from an official source.

In my year I believe it was about 240 that were sent out first year, IIRC. This is more than the number of seats, but they know how many will not attend based on previous years.

Out of curiosity... what would happen if more people accepted the offers than spots available?
