Angiotension
Wondering if anyone has seen a family medicine resident transfer to derm? If so, would love to hear about their experience, thoughts on how to be competitive for it etc. Do they apply via carms? I have seen a few dermatologists who transferred from family to pgy3 of derm but most cases i have come across have been 6ish yrs ago so not sure how relevant that is anymore. bearded frog
Derm is extremely competitive (it goes back and forth between derm and plastic surgery for most competitive specialty by ratio of first choice applicants to spots). To transfer via carms there must be open second round spots which realistically doesn't happen. The only theoretical way a transfer is going to happen is if you are known to a derm program and work with you to make funding/a spot available for you to transfer in, but they must really want you for whatever reason. In any case reach out to your local derm program and see what's what.
ZBL
As above. Never heard of this but if miracles exist, this would be it.
