Guest Zuckman
Hey guys, I'm wondering, the fact that Ottawa meds is between 2 big hospitals (CHEO and General)...is this unique to Ottawa Medical School? Are other med schools on their main campus so that they are not directly attached to big hospitals? Is Ottawa the only med school not on its main campus? Guest satsumargirl
UWO med school is pretty attached to the LHSC university campus hospital (adult acute)...you just have to go through dentistry bldg. And this would be considered to be on UWOs main campus. Don't know about other universities. Ottawa is attached to the General and the Children`s hospital
Guest 0T6
Which is AWESOME when it's -40 outside! The only other school I know physically is UT and they've got 4 hospitals nearby, but it's still a 10 minute walk
Guest medicator007
McGill Medical School is located within short walking distance of the Montreal General and Royal Victoria Hospitals but is not attached and is reasonable close to the Montreal Children's, Jewish General and St. Mary's Hospitals. Guest Anna
NOSM is located on the Lakehead campus. However, the new Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is located directly across the street from the university. Even still, the walk is about 15 minutes to get to the main entrance. Guest peachy
At U of T, most first and second year lectures take place at the Medical Sciences Building, which is on the SW corner of the main downtown campus. Several of the teaching hospitals (Princess Margaret, Mount Sinai, Toronto General, Sick Kids, Women's College) are a short (all less than ten minutes) walk around the corner. Two more hospitals are a slightly longer walk or short shuttle ride away (St. Mike's, Toronto Western) The last main teaching hospital (Sunnybrook) is ~30 minute shuttle ride away from the main campus. Guest Talon01
Ottawa is attached to 3 hospitals (CHEO, General and the Rehab). I believe there's also the eye institute right on the 'campus' as well.
Guest satsumargirl
yep the eye institute is there, the rehab centre and cancer center too....but these are considered part of the Ottawa General Campus.

Guest Kirsteen
Hey there, The UofC medical school is directly attached to the largest of our teaching hospitals--the Foothills Medical Centre. We are separate, and about a 5 minute drive, from the main UofC campus. Cheers, Kirsteen
