If you look at the statistics page you’ll see that quite a reasonable proportion of people every year have a GPA in the 80-84.9%, although it’s been going down. It used to usually be 20-25%, but in the last few years it has been below 20%.  There’s often not anything particularly unique about those success stories, aside from the fact that those applicants generally have stronger overall applications (in NAQ and/or MCAT and/or Employment history) to make up for a lower GPA.
