Guest wishywish82
Are you allowed to scrape your soap with the ruler after you're done carving to smooth it up?? I find it helps smoothing the planes and makes all the corners perfect.

Guest excitotox
Wishywish82, You have to be careful with soap scraping. I believe that scraping soap with your finger, desk, pencil, marker, ruler, and any other devices other than your knife is prohibited. I recall my DAT vigilator emphasizing that if you are caught scraping soap with something other than a knife, they will not pick up your soap and you will get an automatic zero. I believe it is also stated in the rules/instructions in the DAT prep book (but, please double check). I would suggest that you practice smoothing planes and corners with your knife. Just a warning, M UofT Dent Class of 2009
Guest wishywish82
excitotox, Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize there was a 90 angle on built into the blade until the other night when i was carving. AW
Guest shesallDAT
Speaking of the blade... On the actual DAT, we get one blade, right? (Whereas the CDA DAT prep kit contains two different sizes...) Which size of blade do they give you on the actual DAT?
