gigajunkedjank
Hi there! I've recently graduated from UBC, and am working a job in tech at the moment. I've been part of a published lit review, had 2 internships before this job, 2 normal retail/food jobs, and have been part of student teams/volunteered for events here and there. My GPA is pretty mid (79-80 AGPA?), is it worth taking more courses to try to bump it up? Or should I just try to grind the MCAT/get more EC involvement? ShadesofCyan
Hello! I think you should take a look at the statistics provided by UBC. The average AGPA for admission in 2021 was over 89%. 8 people were admitted with a GPA below 80%. I you're applying with this GPA I would reccommend a strong MCAT above 517 at least and amazing NAQs. It can be really challenging to change your GPA but may be worth a try to bump it into the lower 80s. Could take some courses that may help you in medical school as well. Another option is to just apply and see where that gets you. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat more. Good luck!
