Switching FM to IM as a PGY-2

Hi,

I'm currently a PGY-2 in Family Medicine at McGill University.

I hesitate to switch to internal medicine because I realize more and more that hospitalist medicine is what I want to do and I'm scared that I will not be able to fulfill that need in Family Medicine. I would like to hear any experience others had switching from FM to IM. How many rotations did they recognize? Is the job market better for hospitalists? Would you recommend it?
