Guest MicroMaster
Hey hey, does anyone know if Ottawa has a set number of seats open to Ontario residents and a limited number for the rest of the country; or is it all fair game? Guest MicroMaster
Or does any other ONT school for that matter?
Guest kaymcee
Of the six schools in Ontario (NOSM, Western, McMaster, Toronto, Queens, and Ottawa), NOSM, McMaster, and Ottawa have residency preferences. Specifically, NOSM prefers those from Northern Ontario (and also likes people from rural communities); McMaster prefers Ontario residents, giving 90% of the interviews to those from the province; Ottawa is more complicated, giving preference to applicants in the following order: non-Québecois/non-Ontarian applicants to the French program, Canadian Forces-sponsored applicants, aboriginals, Ontario and Outaouais residents applying to French program, applicants from "under-serviced areas", Ottawa-Outaouais residents, Ontarian applicants, and applicants not from Ontario. This publication from OMSAS is the best resource outlining requirements for Ontario faculties of medicine. ...and isn't that word, Outaouais, such a funny one? So many consecutive vowels!
