jhene 111
Hello, I understand that as a Canadian USMG for CaRMS 2024-2025, I am considered a CMG for CaRMS, so I don't need to take MCCQE 1. However, I have read its similar to Step 2 CK which I am taking soon and I have read that I should get it out of the way after Step 2. The only worry for me is that I am not the best test taker, and I am wondering if I don't score well on MCCQE 1, would that look bad for my CaRMS application? Thank you
DrOtter
Afaik if you're equivalent to CMGs, there is no harm as long as you pass (which you probably will quite easily if you're prepped for Step 2 CK already). You also can just take it after the CaRMS deadline - your Step 2 CK knowledge would still be pretty good and the score won't affect your CaRMS chances

DrOtter
Pretty sure for IMGs it's mandatory - just not sure when the whole USMD=IMG change is kicking in.
