Guest not another premed
Hi all, I'm curious if anyone has any statistics (or knows of a website with statistics) regarding premed degrees. I.E. do 50% of med students have Biology as a premed (4year) degree, and 30% have biochemistry degrees etc. etc. Even better would be any numbers regarding the premed degrees of med school applicants compared to the those of actual med school students. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! JB
Guest Steve U of T
The AAMC keeps a lot of statistics on people writing the MCAT, including the undergraduate major of people who write the test. I think it is a fairly representative sample of premeds. I think they may even have a section organized based on matriculants versus applicants.
