I was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask him for a reference letter? We don't have the same last name so it wouldn't be obvious that he is my uncle. What do u guys think? thanks! Guest Ian Wong Posted January 31, 2004 Report Share Posted January 31, 2004 I wouldn't use a relative if I could possibly avoid it. That's usually grounds for conflict of interest. Would people figure out that you two are related? Probably not. If they did however, it would probably make that reference letter significantly less credible.
