wait list question

Hi there. I was placed on the waiting list as an OOP. I'm not entirely sure what that means because I don't know how many students are on it. Does anyone know how many wait-listed applicants usually get an offer? I know it varies, but do they go through a pretty big chunk of the waitlist? Also, have any OOP's received a rejection this year? Good luck everyone, and congrats to the class of 2009!

<pagetext>Gosh this boards been quiet since the false alarm of last week. I am certainly having trouble focusing on much else than when are we going to hear!!! I can't believe we are going to hear so soon as it seems like I've been waiting forever...And of course I'm feeling anxious about whether I'll be accepted or not and all the consequences of either of those - whether I'd get the site I wanted, the waitlist or the prosect of reapplying :\ etc etc ...! Yikes! It's really hard to think positively when I'm scared I'd be setting myself up for a big disappointment. It seems some days I'm sure I'll get in and then an hour later I'm thinking about my interview/essay etc and have convinced myself that I don't have a chance. It really is funny what this whole process does to you. Anyways I thought I'd share what craziness is running through my head because I'm sure all you guys out there are feeling some of the same stuff! So as it probably will be just a week until we hear I wish you all good luck, I've got my fingers crossed and trying to keep karma on my side :lol

<pagetext>Talking to some medical students, I've been made aware that the ratio of PBL to lecture doesn't suit everyone. One person mentioned that students were requesting that some of their independent study time be converted to didactic sessions.

 

Are there other things about attending UBC that you aren't that excited about? I think I've got a better understanding of the advantages than of the disadvantages, and it would be great to know (when selecting a school) what some of the problems are at UBC.
