english requirement

Hello,

 

I'm applying to UBC this year and want to know about the english requirement. Do they just require english courses with an essay component? I wanted to take children's literature and a course in semiotics... but I don't know if those will suffice.

 

I need to get a letter stating that I'll be registered in those courses in the winter (pre-reg. isn't for awhile). I don't understand that, since I'm basically cut if I don't take the required pre-reqs. But anyway, can someone give me some guidance?

Not the answer you're lookign for....But best to give the admissions office a call. If you're from UBC, the English requirement is pretty much a cake walk as most students take similar first year english courses. I have no clue how other universities operate.
