Guest Jim Bob
How many people transfer in after a year or 2? Is it possible to do 1 or 2 years in a U.S. medical school and transfer to UBC, as a BC resident? I don't imagine they would consider transfers from osteopathic medical schools? Guest Ian Wong
Transfers are very rare. There first has to be a spot open for you, and then you still have to complete the transfer itself. I don't know if the osteopathic DO degree is recognised by UBC as being equivalent; DO's in general are extremely rare here in BC and I believe the rest of Canada. There haven't been any people who have transferred into my class either at the beginning of second year, or third year, who weren't already previous UBC students (who had taken time off for any number of reasons). For accurate information, contact the UBC Admissions office. You can enter their web-site from here: www.med.ubc.ca Ian UBC, Med
