Other than NSERC, workstudy, and knocking on professor's doors, are there other means to find a acadamic lab position (volunteer or paid) at UBC. If you know other, please share them. THANKS!

There are summer student research programs through the faculty of medicine. Sorry I can't post a link right now, but look on UBC medicine's site under research. I was supposed to do one this summer, was chosen for a project by a physician in emergency medicine, but even at that point you have to compete against other doctor-student applications, and ultimately and unfortunately, we lost out.
