Guest wab8611
i know that this is the dumbest question, but i have to ask it. in highschool my grades were horrible (mid 60's) until grade 12 (85%). now because of my grades from 9-11 i was unable to get any awards. the only certificate i recieved in hs was the ontario scholar award. i was wondering if this would hurt my chances for medschools, since so many (im thinking most) pre-meds have awards from hs? see i told you it was a dumb question. thanks wab8611
Guest marbledust
I wouldn't think so. Most medical school applicants have much more going for them than high school awards (ie: work and/or volunteer experience; university grades; extracirriculars, etc). You get the picture... Guest peachy
Nobody is ever going to care what you did in high school! Don't worry about it.
Guest aneliz
Med school admissions committees really don't care what awards you got in grade 9... in fact, they are not even listed on the application because you would have be less than 16 at the time. High school awards will definitely have no impact on a med school application. It is what you have achieved SINCE high school that is going to matter.
