Guest AspiringMedStudent
What do you think of special event volunteers? Do you think it shows a lack of dedication, because it’s only a one time activity? Would you / did you include them in your list of OMSAS 48 activities? Thanks, AMS
Guest Kirsteen
Hi there, This kind of activity does not show a lack of dedication since it is a one-time commitment. As such, unless you have room to spare on your sketch, you might add other activities that demonstrate more commitment, unless the event was interesting and you learned much from your experience there. Cheers, Kirsteen
Guest HenryTheBig
Hey, It's definitely better than putting nothing down. Most undergrads applying will not have as many 'committed' activities as grads since undergrads have had so little time. Many of my friends put numerous 1-day events that seem quite trivial and they got in to meds. It's not easy to fill in all 48 with committed activities if you're an undergrad. Guest aneliz
Keep in mind that there is no requirement to fill in all 48 spaces either!
Guest Talon01
I used 'one time' events on my application and it eventually worked...
