Guest pumpkina88
Hi all, I am trying to figure out now how much time I'd have outside of residency to actually have a life. Can anyone give me any idea of approximately how many hours a week is required for either Family or Psychiatry residencies? Thanks!
Guest UWOMED2005
From what I've heard of those residencies, at least here at Western, they're primarily 8-4 residencies with some on call (not sure how much! I think it's about 1 in 4, though Psych and Family calls are often completed over the phone. . .) WHILE YOU ARE ON THE FAMILY AND PSYCHIATRY ROTATIONS. Thing is, most programs have you rotate to other specialties (ie a 1 month rotation in Internal medicine; not really sure about the details) so things can get a little more hairy when you're on those rotations.
