UserName
Does a pre-secondary rejection means that they never send you the secondary application for you to fill out? and isn't a post-secondary rejection and a pre-interview rejection the same thing? thanks and good luck for all of you
Flame219
Good idea Classic! Props! @ Username, yeah some schools screen before they send out secondaries, so you're right. I've checked the thread on SDN and the way how they did it was specify S and I together ex. (S+, I+), but I think it's kinda pointless since you need to have secondaries complete for interviews anyway (unless they don't have secondaries..)
Monster
I think the most useful thing to do would be to include when you were complete, when you got an interview and when you were rejected (or I- no interview) The rejection thread on SDN is not very helpful. I think the reason we're doing it is so future applicants can look at these and get a good idea of timeline from them as well as schools that commonly accept/reject. It's of no use for me to see that a bunch of people got rejected from a school. I want to know WHEN they got rejected and when they were complete!!!! Too late now...oh well....when in Rome....agree to disagree...
In_Valid
I think the only thing applicants for next year need to know is that the earlier the better. They should really just apply ASAP. A) because the summer is when most people have time to write 15+ secondaries and because it is beneficial for schools with rolling admissions (apparently). btw, I got the flu shot yesterday and my arm hurts. sadface. I will give you more 1) more time in the summer 2) interview before midterms 3) interview when its off season for plane tickets 4) get peace of mind early on in the year 5) increases your chances of getting accepted 6) interview when it isn't freezing cold 7) you don't conflict with Canadian interviews
Monster
I know applying early is important and yes it's important for future applicants to know that.. what I meant is that after you've applied and are complete at a school, it would be nice to look at the previous year to see when those people were complete and when they got interviews or when they were rejected. It sucks to be complete for 2 months and get nothing from the school and you don't know if it's normal or just a silent rejection...that's why I think it would be useful to have dates in the rejections.
token
Well SDN's always around for dates (with a higher sample size, too). I think this list would be more helpful in a "do Canadians have a chance in hell?" kind of way. We definitely need to update that Canadian friendly school list at the very least. I hear that the conditions there are terrible.. after Hurricane Ike hit. I heard this from several students when I visited Dallas. You're really not missing out on much. Monster
congrats on the acceptance bobo. and yeah...that is what I heard as well. I really liked the school and previously would have gone there over RFU but now I'm not so sure. I feel bad for them but it just seems so up in the air with them laying off so many people and what not. If I got accepted..I'm not sure I would go either. poor UTMB
