Admission requirements

I found out that the U of C admissions committee recommends a full year of English to apply for its medical school. Would it be acceptable to do an English course during summer semester?

<title>On-line essay</title>

<pagetext>For those of you who have already entered your essay on-line for U of C, can you tell me what font size and margins you used when writing it?

Susan Taylor told me we had 55 lines and a 1/2 inch margin, so I wrote my essay with those parameters. Now the program won't accept my essay! In fact, I need to cut out a whole paragraph for it to fit.

Has anyone got any info, or had the same problem?

<title>calgary med students help</title>

<pagetext>I have just received an interview at Calgary, and have a number of questions that I was wondering if some calgary med students would be able to answer...here goes:

1. how does the program work? I have been to the website including the class websites and remain confused on how all the different lectures, sessions, workshops fit in the schedule. Where does the hospital learning fit in, as Calgary boasts learning in the hospital from the very first day?

2. From the three-year timetable outline, it looks like Calgary has less elective time than, say a four year program, is this true? Does this hinder chances of getting a residency in another city since you have less time to do electives at that city?

3. Is there a heavy push for clagary grads to go into rural medicine?

4. Do calgary grads stay in province to do their residency?

5. Do you think there are any disadvantages of a three year program that I should be aware of?

6. Is the program based on PBL like mac?

7. what is the attitude towards out-of-province students in the program?

Thanks in advance for helping answer any or all of these question!!!!
