What are the chances of entry into a "western" programme?

Recommended Posts

That is if you're from the eastern part of Canada?

I'm wondering, since I heard that even if you do an elective at UBC for instance, your chances of matching into a competitive specialty is still close to nil, if you're not "from there".

I'd like to know before I schedule my electives...

I'm not set 100% on my choice, but I like radiology, ENT, anesthesia...I think I can still spin my application and be competitive in these fields, but as I was taught, history is key, how many people match from OOP?

This question applies to Alberta too...

And while at it, programmes at UofT if not from Ontario?

Thx all
