jd99
Hey there, Is it true that if you make the GPA/MCAT cutoffs for the med schools in Ontario, you are guaranteed an interview? Does anyone know what these cutoffs are? Thanks.
scarface
Of the three MCAT schools in Ontario, that holds true only for Queen's and Western (not UT). Although, that rule may change with UWO as they've added an essay component to admissions process. A friend of mine got accepted to Western "back in the day" when no additional personal information was required on the application. Since she only applied to Western, she didn't bother filling out the sketch (citing it was a hassle to find all her verifiers), and asked her mom, one of her girlfriends, and her boyfriend (or something along those lines) to write her 3 references. At the time Western didn't use sketch or references, so she got an interview based on her GPA/MCAT. As for what the cutoffs are, I can't remember them exactly off the top of my head (something like 32N for Queen's, and 10,10,10,Q for UWO), so refer to their websites. Expect them to increase rather than decrease over the years (refer to my reply to the "Ummm . .. . Cutoff" post in the Queens forum)
Madz25
True only for Queen's. Check out the Queen's medicine website for the cutoffs.
TimmyMax
Hey, Should still be true for Western. Unless, of course, your essay really sucks!
