Class of 2010 Admission Stats

That's actually a definite possibility. I know many people with low MCAT marks get a boost from their essay.

 

That makes no sense to me since the essay is part of the MCAT. How a given school decides to use the essay score is subjective, but that doesn't negate the importance of the WS.

What? I didn't say the writing sample wasn't important, I'm just saying I know quite a few people who did well on the writing sample (aka essay) and not so well on the other sections, thus it helped their operative MCAT score.
