popeofpopetown
I've done well in all my three years of university but have a bad final year (one half course C one half course D and the rest As). This is partly due to the fact that I am applying in the United States and this essentially wasted my time in terms of interviews and essay writing. I know final year marks don't count during the application and that western takes your two best years, but my question is whether this will somehow screw me over in the applications process. Do people somewhere on the admissions committee take a look at the transcript?
ploughboy
If you have two years over UWO's GPA cut-off, you're fine.
hippie
What's the cut-off of oop and IP?
blinknoodle
The cut-offs are determind basedon the pool of applicants. Last's years cut-offs can be found here: http://www.schulich.uwo.ca/medicine/Admissions/?main_choice=4 This is the first cycle that you do not need pre-req courses, but need an honours degree, so no one can really tell what this will do to the cut-offs. aneliz
UWO makes no distinction between in and out of province applicants. The only distinction is between "SWOMEN" and "non-SWOMEN" applicants. A SWOMEN applicant is from UWO's 'catchment area' (ie: London-Middlesex, Windsor, Essex, Chatham-Kent, Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce counties). Other than those applicants, everyone is treated equally - so a Toronto student is the same as a Vancouver student at UWO.
