Bilingual

Recommended Posts

If you apply to the anglophone stream and write that you are bilingual, then it is fair game for them to conduct part of your interview in French. This will allow them to assess your language skills.

If you write you are bilingual but aren`t, then there isn`t much of an advantage since it may come out in the interview.

There are plenty of people admitted to Ottawa who don`t speak French. IMHO being bilingual would be seen as a positive but isn`t going to be the thing that gets you in. So if you feel comfortable with part of your interview potentially being in French, then go for it. And if not, don`t stress, I don`t think it will make or break you.

Good Luck :)
