TBJ1
I hope that there is some way they will lower the VR to 9. We can all dream right?
silverjelly
I hope that there is some way they will lower the VR to 9. We can all dream right? I know. That darn 9 in VR screwed me over for both Western and Queens. Last year, I got an 11 in VR, but a N in the WS. This time, I got the magic Q in WS, but look what happened to verbal! So frustrating! bioboy2007
I'm just hoping that the MCAT cutoffs don't go up! I took myself out of the running for Queen's because I thought the MCAT scores would go up and not down!!
eise
you never know. Queen's MCAT cut-offs dropped this year and it's just as likely they may drop at Western given the school received fewer applicants after instituting their requirement for a 4 yr degree. I'm not in undergrad so I did not pay attention to the degree requirements per school. Is the 4-yr degree requirement new this yr or in years past? sea52
Has anyone called the admissions office thisafternoon to see if they are willing to release the cut-offs? I just don't want to bother them if someone has already tried.
ploughboy
I was speaking with Darla today. The admissions committee has met and the cut-offs should hit the admissions website soon.
Dayne67
Here's hoping that they reduce the WS requirement to O. As for the essay. If interview invites are to be sent out in one week, they would have read them all by now. And would there even be minimum cut-offs (for interviews) if there was a subjective essay component involved?

temp_degoo
Let's take some bets! I'm saying it stays the same. 10, 10, 10, Q. 3.7 GPA. I can't justify increasing any of the values.
Kuantum
I didn't apply to Western, but I'd bet that it stayed the same as well.
tyro
I think it will stay the same. They still haven't posted them yet:( I'm nervous and I didn't even apply this year! What are the chances after an interview? ~50%?

What are the chances after an interview? ~50%? Hmm depending on how many offers they give... it'll definitely be > than 30%... probably around 40% I'd think. eise
but if there's less applicants this year due to the 4th year requirement, wouldn't the cutoffs decrease?
bioboy2007
but if there's less applicants this year due to the 4th year requirement, wouldn't the cutoffs decrease? Not if the quality of the average applicant has increased
hopingforluck
but if there's less applicants this year due to the 4th year requirement, wouldn't the cutoffs decrease? except that they will have the same amount of applicants due to the double cohort
katerade
Actually, I think OMSAS reported fewer applicants to UWO this year than last year. Surprising isn't it? where did you get that info?
TBJ1
One of the moderator's posted a link to a Report from UWO which showed a decrease in the number of applicants this year. The post should be in this forum somewhere.

Dayne67
I guess the fourth year honors degree requirement caused that small dip (roughly 300 fewer applicants). But the double cohort continues to having a lasting effect on all schools (even to UWO) - especially UofT and Mac. But what this means for the cut-offs is anyone's guess. It may or may not have an effect.
UofTstudentX
Hey Kenneth, Where did you get the 2007 data? I only see the data up to 2006 on their site. Not that it matters, but I am just curious.
