Guest scrubbed
Hey there, This is a common question. Your first year does make it more difficult, but it can be done. Medical schools do look at progress made from year to year or in some cases your best two years. A UBC student, I improved by over 10% from in my second and subsequent years from my first year. Take some time this summer to think about what things you did poorly and how you can improve them. Check out other posts in the forum if you desire more information. Good luck.
