momo
Just a heads up on an interesting book I've read recently on the role that physicians play in ethical treatment of people across the globe. It's a series of essays spanning from physicians' role in torture of political prisoners to the politics of HIV drugs in Africa. The title is "Trust is not enough - bringing human rights to medicine." and it's by David J. Rothman and Sheila M. Rothman. It's published by New York Review Books/Collection. I liked it because it addressed a very wide range of topics both from a medical and a human rights approaches, and it didn't drone on and on, but rather pointedly and humanely described issues. Very good, much recommended. M

w8kg6
Yeah, I read that book for my MUN interview. It's not so bad, but I think there are better out there. It'd make my top 5, but probably not my top 3.
