Hi everybody,

I just wanted to know what the contents of an official transcript are. I petitioned one of my courses and was granted that petition, but now I am concerned that there is going to be a note on my transcript about it. Please let me know if that is the case.

I'm a 25 yr old dental graduate from India opting for a career change for many reasons.....I plan to give mcat 06 along with my EE for dental ....Since I have taken maths only till 10th grade,i believe I need to do a course hereto apply to medical schools...do i need to do a full credit course for that...I'm so confused about that.....More over i learned from u of t site that a full course equivalent of humanities/social sciences/languages is another pre requiste...Would i be able to finish my courses by next year if i join for this september.... if i take a language course would it affect my GPA ....In India the language students usually score less grades...could any help me on what i should do...I 'm pretty confused ....help me plz

I was just thinking about this today as I was stuyding for finals. Everyone knows that if you don't meet the GPA cut-offs, then you won't make it into med school. But then, if you just do school work only and nothing else, you'll bomb interviews and personal statement. Of course, balance is the key. But how? Any advice?

 

I've cut off on SO many extracurriculars this year that it's not funny and my marks still aren't great. I mean, they might be ok to make the cut-offs (well depending on how well I do on finals and this is only for first year) but no where near spectacular. I'm just so puzzled sometimes whether I should be spending more time getting involved or keeping my marks up.

 

The way I see it though, it's like a lose-lose situation in my case. I won't ever make it to the "top" even if I work hard like there's no tomorrow. However, if I shift more time to EC, then my marks will suffer and then I might not even make cut-offs.....ARGH...Is it just me or does anyone else find it hard to prioritize their time?
