Footyfanatic
Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone can post or email me an outline of a typical weekly schedule from 1st or 2nd year, preferably both. What time do classes start and end? How long are the PBL sessions on Monday and Friday? Do class schedules change depending on the subject covered? What days are you off and at what time - to do electives and what not. Thanks in advance. saifa@yorku.ca - if you cannot post it.
everyoneloveschem
I am a first year. Our schedules tend to be fairly similar week to week. Here is our schedule for last week (cardio block): Monday 8:30 - 10:30 PBL 11:00 - 12:00 Lecture 13:00 - 14:00 Lecture 14:00 - 17:00 IPH Tuesday 8:30 - 9:30 Lecture 9:30 - 10:30 Lecture 11:00 - 12:00 Lecture Wednesday 8:30 - 10:30 Lab (really lecture) 10:30 - 12:30 Workshop (1/4 of the class, more hands on) Thursday 8:30 - 9:30 Lecture 10:00 - 11:00 Lecture 11:30 - 12:30 Lecture 12:30 - 1:30 Lecture 14:30 - 17:00 PSD Friday 8:30 - 11:30 PBL Usually IPH on Monday and PSD on Thursday ends earlier than scheduled, but it depends on what group you are in. Same goes for PBL. Some blocks are busier than others and some weeks are worse than others. It really depends. Hope this helps.
Talon01
Some blocks have more lecture/seminar times than others. Usually tuesday and thursdays are relatively light. They also have chunks of time reserved so you can setup electives, study, sleep, work out, etc.
shehpar786
What's IPH?
Talon01
Howdy! I&PH is short for Individual and Population Health. Depending on the block, the lecture can be anything from an information session on the prevalence of a condition within the population, treatment methods, ways to screen/treat the disease to having individuals with certain conditions (related to the block) come in and discuss the impact of the condition on their life and/or family.
