Which med schools include summer course marks?

Hello.

 

I heard that some med school include summer school

course mark in their GPA caluculation and some schools

don't. I'm wondering which school does and which doesn't.

 

I'm thinking about taking English course during the summer because it is a pre-req course in UBC(and some other universities in West coast and US), because I don't think I'll achieve a good mark in English.

Especially I'm interested in getting into UT medicine/UBC medicine/or medschools in US.

 

Please excuse me for asking this because I think

the similar question would have been posted several times, but I can't find answer for my specific question.

Here's my story. I'm 34 and have been seriously thinking about changing my path in life to become a doctor. It's been a desire of mine since I was a kid, but circumstances and events in my life have led me away from this goal. At any rate, I'm ready to take the first steps. It will be a long, hard road to travel as I will need to finish my undergrad first (2-3 years at least), get some meaningful EC under my belt, and apply for med school. At any rate, I will be in my 40's before I could even think about practicing medicine. But, it's a desire that haunts me and won't let go! I know that if I do make the decision to do it, I will put everything I have into this. I am lucky because I've been working in an industry/career for the past 10+ years that has given me great leadership, problem solving, and stress management skills which would make me a good candidate. It's also given me the financial solvency to put myself through school without too much debt.

 

Would love to hear some success/failure stories about people in a similar situation to mine.
