Dante
i've heard that western has some uber scholarship that pays like 20k per year for four years. does this exist? how do you apply for it? or is it just sent with offers of admission? Don't know if anyone from UWO who'se gotten it could shed some light... Thanks!
temp_degoo
some previous posters mentioned this (see if you can find it using search function). There are quite a few and seem to be given out based on need.
Gob
I think there's 15 or 16 of them a year, they basically cover your tuition for the whole time you're here (16 grand x 4) and I believe they send them to you based on financial need... Kyleh
Are there others available for those who are not in financial need? What classifies a person for being in financial need?

The Law
I think it's given to those with the lowest incomes that were admitted. I'm not sure, but I recall reading that before.
temp_degoo
They just sent out a letter and said its based on merit and financial need, indicated through a form that is filled out by the applicant. It is 20k for 4 years (assuming you show financial need every year, i.e. don't win the lottery).
Saberial
Does anyone know if the scholarships are limited to folks that got a first-round offer (i.e. May 15, 2007) or do waitlisted candidates also get a shot at it? Cheers!
bioboy2007
Congrats on the interview, Saberial. I have a feeling that all candidates (first-round acceptances + waitlisted) would be eligible for the scholarship -- it sure would be nice to have tuition covered for 4 years!!
