revealing too much?

Hello there,

 

I have a question with regards to revealing one's ethnic/socioeconomic/religious status in the school submission questions. Although i do not directly refer to these, mentioning such information in an answer to one of questions helps me to explain myself better. What do you think about this? Should i avoid mentioning these all together?

 

Also, is there any harm in mentioning that I immigrated to canada at a early age as a part of my answer to a school submission question?

 

Any suggestions/advice would be helpful,
