xylem29
Am I right to assume that most students, by the time they are ready to apply for residency, are aware of their "competitiveness" for certain specialties? If so, is this b/c the clerkship grades and evaluations are made available to students so that they can read what their evalutors have written about them? Are there mentors or advisors in med school who encourage students into fields that they have a realistic shot at? How do you know what your chances are? Or do most people simply apply to whatever they are interested in, without consideration of their competitiveness for the field?
