palmpalm
Hi all, Everyone here was so helpful when I asked questions about LOCs so I'm going to ask some more questions, this time about residency. I'm going to medical school at Tel Aviv University in Israel. I am a Canadian and wish to come back to Ontario in 4 years and do a family medicine residency here. How difficult is it to get a FM residency after attending a foreign medical school? How is the process, if at all, different from applying as a grad of a Canadian school? Also, does being from a foreign school have any effect on my eligability to apply, after my FM training, to the one year emergency medicine training in order to have the CCFP(EM) certification? Thanks.
andros
Hi there, you should probably refer to the CaRMS website for information on the residency match as an IMG. http://www.carms.ca I think family med is probably the easiest residency to match to as an IMG. Best of luck
