daryn
Hi. I have five people in mind: 1) Optometrist. I have worked with him for 4+ years (as his reception). He's a little quirky and forgetful sometimes but I think he's pretty impressed with my work. 2) Family physician, the optometrist's wife. I have known her for 4+ years by proxy but I have only worked with her last summer as her assistant. I knew she really liked me, but I haven't seen her for a year, and she's always a little cranky about having to fill out paperwork. 3) Optician. I have known him for 5+ years, having worked with him at two different places. He has really seen me mature over the years and knows me really well. Problem is he is not much of a writer. 4) Supervisor in graduate school #1 He is my primary supervisor. 5) Supervisor in graduate school #2 She is my cosupervisor. I think 4) knows me better than 5) but 5) is nicer.
ashlay
i wish i had your references, those are all great. mine are so bad compared to yours. i'd say optometrist and supervisor for sure, and the other ones all seem the same so whichever you're most comfortable with. toffeetree
i would do 2 supervisors and optometrist if you had to pick 3. however, another option, if you're thinking of UT med, is to ask one supervisor, optometrist and optician. and then send in the other supervisor's reference letter as part of the additional graduate student package. so in total you would get to send in 4! good deal!
