tmc Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 Hi Kirsteen, I'm hoping to seek some personal advice as my situation is a little opposite to yours.... I'm also a huge radiology keener (and am hoping to match this year). I've done quite a bit of research and electives in the area and think my chances are pretty good at getting in somewhere. However the delimma is that I'm currently doing a general surgery elective at a community hospital and am absolutely loving it. I like it to the point that I'm almost wishing that I could apply to the program. As I haven't completed many surgery electives I'm wondering about the following: - what exactly made you turned off of surgery - do you think a reference letter from a community surgeon would be sufficience to apply to the program or is an elective at a larger center needed?
