joiningtherace
well i just got the email from Cal saying I didnt make the cut off...I always thought that Alb and Cal are very similar (based on their applications) so if rejected by one, are you mostly likely not going to make it for the other?? I can't remmber if Alb also follows that crazy algorithm
Jochi1543
AB doesn't use the algorithm. They look at your cumulative and pre-req GPAs, MCAT, WS, and ECs before an interview offer is extended. Calgary only looks at 2 best year's GPA, BS, and VR of the MCAT when it comes to the cutoff. juicyprunes
don't be bummed. Calgary can be a bit funny sometimes... I know some people who got invites from U of C and not U of A and vice versa. Calgary rejected me outright as well and I'm now at U of A....Keep your hopes up
Calgarymed
As far as I know Calgary only uses the algorithm if you are OOP initially, if you are IP then I believe your whole application is looked at by 4 reviewers and you are rewarded "marks" by each for a total mark that has to meet a certain cutoff, I think it is usually out of 400.
