NeuroEng
I have read that Canadian residents training in Diagnostic Radiology are eligible to sit the ABR board exams. Does anyone know if persons completing a radiology residency program in the US are eligible to write the Royal College Exams (eg. a Canadian med school grad doing Residency training in the US)? Ian Wong
Currently, there is reciprocity between the Canadian Royal College and the American Board of Radiology. As a result, if you complete a residency in the US, as long as you meet the criteria set out by the Royal College, you will be eligible to take the Canadian boards. I believe that all US radiology programs can meet the below criteria. http://rcpsc.medical.org/residency/certification/index.php?specialty=117&submit=Select http://rcpsc.medical.org/residency/certification/training/diarad_e.html Ian One thing to realize is that getting into a US radiology program from Canada is not easy. There is a lot of geographical bias involved, and if you are not a US citizen or have a US green card, you will face significant amounts of discrimination from programs because they will be required to sponsor you on either a J-1 or H1B visa in order for you to train there.
