JAdlCruz
My info is from about three years ago when I first attended an advising session. What I was told was they have "a way of converting marks" - no more details offered beyond this, despite a few of us pressing for specifics. He did say that they took the entire GPA, not course by course, then applied their conversions. Now, other faculties at UBC use the lowest percent of a letter grade range. So if an A is 85 to 89, then you will be 85. If you applied to Law this is what they do for marks that letter grades from other institutions. The registrar's office also uses this conversion for transfer applicants. So maybe it can be assumed that UBC med does the same - again unconfirmed. I am not sure what they do if your mark is already a percentile. Here is UBC's conversion of a 4.33 scale to percentile: 4.33 90+ 4.30 89 4.20 88 4.10 87 4.00 86 3.95 85 3.90 84 3.85 83 3.80 82 3.75 81 3.70 80 3.60 79 3.50 78 3.40 77 3.30 76 3.20 75 They must have something for a 4.00 scale, but I haven't found it on UBC's website.
