Wait-list update...

Checking over past threads, it looks like in 2003, people were accepted before the 2 weeks were up, and someone right after, has anyone out there been pulled off the list yet? Would ottawa tell us if anyone was pulled off yet? It would be nice to hear before the weekend- u think it's possible?

Last year one of my friends called the admissions office asking what day they start sending out offers to those waitlisted, and she got a fairly straightforward response, i.e. "sometime within this week" sort of answer. So...if you're that curious, just call them, it's not gonna kill you or them to ask.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the system in 2003 was the same as it is now. Last year they started to invite people off the waitlist on May 31st, according to this message board. It'll likely be the same this year. It's only a few more days, hang in there and try not to stress over it!

Just finished a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Biology from St. Mary's University in Halifax

GPA = 4.17 out of 4.3 --> I think that is a 3.93 on OMSAS

Lots of EC's - hospitals, sexual health centre, dental office etc

Interview = mixed feelings, a few questions I felt could have been answered with stronger responses, but obviously I did better then I thought!!

What about your WGPA? you know x1 for year 1, x2 for year 2 and x3 for year 3, omsas is not the same... see if your wgpa is lower than ours we know we're in for a wait because that means we got the interview score that is a level below yours.

I'm not sure what that is.....but I think it would be higher than my overall GPA for four years...because I got nothing but A's and A+'s in 3rd, and 4th year....

Well, they don't count the year you're in, so if you graduated last year, then they use your 2nd, 3rd and fourth, but if you're in your fourth now, then it would be 1st, 2nd, 3rd

You said you 'just finished" so I'd assume you just finished 4th year, which means it didn't count in your application for 2008 entry.

I'm on the english stream! I think my wGPA is 4.1...not including my fourth year...good luck to everyone

Ottawa is on a 4.0 scheme, not 4.3

what's your SIN# and DOB? I think that will help future applicants figure out if they are competitive

almost enough, just need to know how many A's vs A+s in each of the 3 years

if I give you 1 B in first year, an A- in 2nd year, and half A's, half A+'s for the rest, and 10 courses per year, 30 courses total, then you'd have a 3.926 WGPA... Do you have more A+'s than A's? if so you'll be closer to 3.95, if not, closer to 3.9...

I have a wgpa of 3.89, so if jd has a 3.95 vs 3.93, that's a few more people between us, I'm just praying to get pulled off the list before the weekend.

I can definitely understand that med_hopeful!! Good luck! It would be FABULOUS to hear before the weekend!... You'll hear before me.. I'm at 3.87.. but still hopeful!
