Where do I stand??

Recommended Posts

Hey all

Ok here's my situation. Im currently a fourth year student at VIU (formerly Malaspina University College). I have a semester off as a co-op work term in the Natural Resource field. Im going to use this semester to take a few classes at UBC where i will be completing a few of the first year requirements for UBC's medical school.

Ill graduate this coming April with a Bacc. of Natural Resource Management, which is a specialised program and therefor NOT a BSc. I know i have a few other courses I need to complete before I have the UBC prerequisites completed.

Where would I go after this coming semester? Do i apply to pre med to complete the pre req's, or complete them on my own time, then apply. What level would i apply to, Pre-med or med school?

Ive looked over the UBC site (oddly layed out), emailed UBC med (no reply??) and checked the flow chart (hilarious, btw) and cant quite figure it out.

Thanks for any replies!

There's no such thing as a premed program at UBC. You just have to make sure you complete the pre-requisites and have a minimum of 90 credits to apply. However, you might have trouble registering into the required courses at UBC, so I think your best bet is to apply to the BSc program in order to get the courses you want.
