mcater2006
Greetings: After the barrage of presentations for the past two days, I am finding myself in the situation of comparing disability insurances offered by three companies: 1. MD Financial 2. DOT Integrated Financial 3. Company that claims to be better than MD Financial by offering fixed policy instead of per-year changeable policy (name I can't remember). I'm leaning towards MD Financial, but am not sure if that is the best choice. Any opinions? Regards, mcater2006
ineffable
OMA should be the cheapest.
blinknoodle
I deleted your other thread due to your double post. If you are considering OMA, ask them whether they can compare/contrast the plans you are thinking about. I have a really good pdf from them about the OMA vs CFMS plans (unfortunately I can't seem to copy and paste it though - send me a PM if you want me to email it to you). Remember that you can always change your mind before you graduate once you know where you will be doing your residency. The OMA/MFM plan is definitely cheaper while you are a medical student (and still is when you are a resident and beyond).
mcater2006
Thanks. By OMA do you mean the MD Financial one (option one?)
blinknoodle
I thought it was through OMA. MDF is Canada-wide and I am not sure how it differs between provinces. http://www.omainsurance.com/std.htm
rogerroger
Yeah, they love selling us stuff eh? I am going with the OMA. MDF is the CMA btw. I kinda thought DOT was super sketchy... Apparently we need disability insurance for the spiffy bursaries they give at UofT. This is my primary motivating factor in pursuing this stuff.
