finks
hi all, i was just wondering (cause you have all been so helpful in the past, thanks!) if I could get some advice on picking an academic reference. is it better to pick someone who knows me better where my grade was a bit lower, not low just lower, or ask a prof who knows me less well but where my grade was higher? what does ubc want in an academic letter? does UBC give a lot of weight to reference letters? i would think that everyone selected for a interview would probably get great reference letters therefore can they really be useful to evaluate the applicants? thanks in advnace for the help, f
Lactic Folly
It's best to pick the person who knows you best, is the most supportive of you and can give you the most enthusiastic and well written letter. Even if your grade is lower, they can write things like "I still think they are an excellent candidate because of [personal qualities observed]."
