ASMED
I've heard that getting an interview at Brown for Canadians is VERY difficult even if you have 3.8+ and 35+ MCAT. Most of their class comes from those combined 7 year BA/BSc + MD programs. I think they have less than 50 seats available through the more traditional AMCAS route. And even for these leftover seats, they have shown a pattern of preferring IVY league grads (i.e. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, UPenn, and of course Brown). I think that the internationals that do get in (if any) are the one's that are already doing their undergrad in a elite (i.e. IVY league) US school. token
Yeah even most Americans avoid applying to Brown like the plague because of the BS/MD people. It's a waste of time and money tbh. Why are you interested in the school?
terryann
A friend I met while doing research during a summer at Duke got accepted last year at Brown. and he thought if I did well on my MCATs, I should apply...hmm...my friend is a US citizen ... had a worthy gpa and excellent mcat...I posted it on this board because he was not familiar with my disadvantage of being Canadian...thanks for helping..and letting me know that they are not too Canadian friendly. xylem29
They are REALLY not Canadian friendly - and very difficult for US citizens to begin with. To start, a significant chunk of their class is given to students in their undergrad/MD joint thingy...
