verifiers

In the application booklet, it states that one has to attach a separate sheet to the essay that includes a list of verifiers for all activities mentioned in the essay. Do we have to make reference to the verifiers in the essay (like one does in the questions for McMaster), or will the adcom. look them up for themselves? That is, if I said I did cancer research, would I have to make some sort of reference to the verifier at the end of the sentence by indicating the verifier #?

I'm doing my application online, and you have to create a list of verifiers. The list is numbered, and when you refer to a specific activity you have to put the number of a verifier in brackets afterwards.

 

eg. I trained intensively under a once famous, now forgotten, former olympic swimming champion, and then swam across the english channel after drinking a two-six of Canadian Club(4).
