Coaching course was pretty good though! Definitely waaaaaaaaaaaay better than I was expecting.... actually got offered a coaching job at the end of it  which completely shocked me. Apparently the instructor liked my enthusiasm.... Only problem is is that it's up in the NWT..... so I'm going to have to think about it...

Well...considering that if you become a YK/NU/NWT resident, you are then considered IP for several provinces, it might not be a bad idea if there aren't any other options available to you at this time. The world is your oyster, KWIM?

I am so glad you had a good experience at the clinic!!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday in T.O.:D

Hahahahah. This makes me so happy that I never got into that show.

+1

Apparently, when they release the last season on DVD, there will be an alternate ending, so many that one will be satisfying ;)

---------

I kind of felt that way about the Sopranos as well, but...if you watch the finale a couple times, you come to the understanding that...well, I won't spoil it, but if anyone wants to discus...

I loved the Sopranos though because the ending was just awesome (albeit angering the first time...thought my TV was busted, lol)

That feeling doesn't go away...I still can't believe I wasted about 6 years of my life for that piece of **** finale!!!

Thank God I watched it all in the last few months in one shot.

DO NOT WATCH IT!!!!!!!

That will be a fail. There is no way they can change it now- it just won't click. What's done is done, as the characters like to say, haha.

I didn't realize he was bitter about U/T.

LOL, you've no idea. I'm surprised he didn't burn it down when he left.

LOL. I agree with this statement. Maybe he'll come back to do it. lol.

Yeah, f_d, I don't think you can get to know anyone over the net. It's all about person to person interactions. :)

Anything new happenin'? :)

Nope. Searching high and low for a family doctor, though. :( Seems no one is taking new patients in Edmonton. *sigh*

I hate to say it, but our medical systems SUCKS. In Munich I had absolutely no problems finding a family doctor (and one who spoke fluent English at that!), I was ALWAYS able to see him the same day, and when I needed to see a specialist, the longest I ever had to wait was a couple of days. Now, I know Germany and Canada are very different countries, but damn, I miss the German system. :(

I wish those looking into health care reform would take a hard look at some of the European systems that are a mix of private and public health care. Everyone is covered, and yet their systems seem to work so much better than Canada's in terms of waiting times, access to specialists, access to diagnostic tools like MRIs and CT scans, etc. I'm sure I'll get raked over the coals for having such an opinion, but Canada's system is just SO broken, and having experienced a system that worked SO much better, I'm truly saddened that people won't even contemplate a two-tier system when it's been shown to work well in a lot of European countries.

I made sure I had enough thryoid meds when we left Germany to last me until school begins (I'm hypothyroid) but I will need a refill sometime in September. Guess I'll be going to clinics (at the uni or elsewhere) if I can't find a family doctor. With a chronic health condition like hypothyroidism, though, it's so much better to have a regular family doctor.

Welcome to Canada. Finding a family doctor in our large cities is mostly an act in futility. You were wise to obtain your meds in advance and no doubt, clinics are your realistic option.

There is always something on your plate to deal with! It is much easier to find a good vet. :)
