Hopeful Med
Possibly some decent pharma jobs or low paying lab jobs. I looked into it.
Jochi1543
If you register as a professional biologist, you can work for consulting companies. With an MSc, you can start at about 45-50K a year in Alberta. Government also has positions open, both in research labs and in policy-related issues. I wouldn't be as pessimistic about this as Hopeful_Med. Your prospects will depend on many things, such as amount of research/pubs produced, contacts made during your research, and your prof's degree of influence in the field. The easiest way to find out is to talk to your department and ask to see what happened to their previous grads.
Ninjaface
You can always teach at a community college, or even some universities. I did an MSc. in Neuro and have been working in the public school system first as a substitute and now as a contracted educational assistant as well as a tutor at a First Nation's community center. It's fun, easy, laid back, largely self-directed, has lots of room for initiative, is relatively fulfilling and pays alright too ($25-35/hour). In a big town you'd probably have to compete with more specifically qualified people for the good jobs, but up here in the north you can pretty much pick and choose where and when you'd like to wqork.
