How to calculate OMSAS GPA?

Recommended Posts

1) Look at the table and find out which grading scale your school uses (most schools use scale 7 or 3)

2) Take each letter or percent grade and convert that into the OMSAS grade

3) Add up all the OMSAS grades

4) Divide by the total number of classes you took

example:

school grades:..........OMSAS grade (using scale 7):

A+..........................4.00

A+...........................4.00

A.............................3.90

A.............................3.90

A-...........................3.70

Add: 4.0 + 4.0 + 3.9 + 3.9 + 3.7 = 19.5

Divide by # of classes: 19.5/5 = 3.9

OMSAS GPA = 3.90

If a class was a full year course, count it as 2 semester grades. So, if you got an A in a year long class, it's like getting an A in first semester and an A in second semester.
