nicks2
Does anyone have any advice on how I should write a letter of academic intent? What should I include in the letter? Should I mention my goal of applying to med school in the future?

123coco
I was successful at being accepted to every grad program I applied to last winter....however, I'm sure you can find the grad rep at your institution and ask them to look it over. I followed the following rubric 1. A brief paragraph about myself and what lead me to apply to a masters 2. why I was interested in pursuing a specific research topic 3. how I intend researching the topic (theorist I'll build on) 4. The specific names of profs you'd be interested to work with 5. why did I apply to that institution (pretty much just inflate their reputation for research and quality of faculty etc. I found writing a research intent particularly difficult because I had no particular interest. Apparently many other applicants had the same problem...we were advised to take a senior level project and just go with that topic....you don't have to declare your concrete thesis until second semester... hope this helps ________ Magic Flight Launch Box
